Thursday, April 19, 2018 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: St. George's Anglican Church
This evening, Madeline Yaaka, whom we first met a year ago when she was one of 6 students we sent to Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders in London, has agreed to speak to us about what it's like to live in her small far-northern community of Kangiqsujuaq -- on the Hudson strait of Quebec. Madeline is living with her aunt in Ravenna and attending Georgian Bay while she completes her high school and prepares for university in the fall.
Madeline is an accomplished and articulate young woman who will give us some fascinating first-hand insight into life in the far north. Be prepared for some stunning photographs of Madeline's "neighbourhood"....
THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY -- INTERESTED PARTNERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
OR PERHAPS THERE ARE GUESTS WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING??
This is where Kangiqsujuaq is located.......
For a small introduction into Madeline's home, check out this link -- http://www.nunavik-tourism.com/Kangiqsujuaq.aspx
This is going to be a wonderful evening of Rotary Fellowship AND a great chance to learn something about a corner of our country we are unlikely to ever see in person. Don't miss it!!
