Formerly called Run Blue Mountains, a multi-year fun run organized by the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club; The Thornbury Turkey Trot is the new name for the same, spectacularly stunning, scenic Run Blue Mountains, now just relocated to the Saturday of the Thanksgiving long weekend. Our new name reflects some of the exciting new changes that we have made to enhance your overall experience.
TTT has something for everyone: a half marathon, a 10 km run/walk, a 5 km run/walk and a 1 km kids fun run. New this year will be a family entry fee. For $100 parents, kids, and their grandparents can all take part in some aspect of the Thornbury Turkey Trot. Set in the rolling countryside of the Beaver Valley, the course takes advantage of the scenic country roads that wind through the picturesque villages of Thornbury and Clarksburg in The Blue Mountains.
Organized and operated by the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club, funds raised through Thornbury Turkey Trot are directed to programs for youth and health care in our community. Our partners in this event remain Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre, and Events for Life.
This is a road race with rolling closures, a little elevation but not too much, and great scenery along the way. For those staying on in town, there will be a “by donation” turkey dinner at the Beaver Valley Community Centre in the evening, put on by the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club. Come and enjoy fall fun in the Beaver Valley. You will be glad you did!
