Perfect fall running weather rolled in for the opening ceremonies. The free kids run was a huge success with just over 300 energy filled children running with parents in tow around the fields of Moreau Park. Lots of smiles as they crossed the finish line to receive their awards.
With music pumping, donning roasted turkey hats, runners and walkers got their gobble on to run/walk the 5K, 10K or Half Marathon routes through the fall colours of the Beaver Valley. The Thanksgiving run has become a destination fall event with guests from all over the province enjoying the region’s specular scenery. The competitive running crowd brought in some impressive results while many families enjoyed a pre-Thanksgiving dinner stroll.
