A Year in the Life of TC Rotary 2024
At TC Rotary, the year’s been grand,
With fundraisers launched by a hardworking band.
The Monthly Dinner Draw kept spirits high,
While Trivia Night teased the brain, oh my!
We rented out tents, tables, and chairs,
Hosted Afternoon Tea with elegance and flair.
The Golf Tournament brought swings and drives,
And the Turkey Trot Race had folks running for their lives!
The Kindness Gala was a night of delight,
Poinsettias bloomed, adding festive light.
And coffee from Ashanti warmed chilly days,
All for good causes—it’s Rotary’s way.
Our principles guide us in all we pursue:
Service to others, in all that we do.
With fellowship built through laughter and care,
And diversity's strength as talents we share.
Integrity leads us to act with intent,
While leadership fuels each project’s ascent.
Together, we strive to make dreams come true,
With hearts and hands, we see it through.
Funds we raised traveled near and far,
From Hope Haven’s horses to kids' camp under the stars.
Shelter Boxes brought aid to those in despair,
Families in crisis found hope in our care.
Little Free Libraries and Pantries appeared,
Painted by students, with kindness steered.
Picnic benches were crafted with skill,
For learning outdoors—it gave us a thrill!
We sent kids and volunteers to a Blue Jays game,
And filled Good Food Boxes in Rotary’s name.
For My Friend's House, we lent a hand,
Supporting women to take a strong stand.
We provided scholarships to help students rise,
At Georgian College, where dreams realize.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters received our support,
Bringing mentorship and friendship of the finest sort.
For the Bluewater Science Fair, funding we gave,
Helping young minds explore and be brave.
The Clarksburg Children’s Festival brought kids to play,
With Rotary’s help, they had a grand day.
We reached across borders to Uganda’s school,
At Elgin Ngoma, our kindness ruled.
And in Cameroon, with a Hand Up bright,
We funded health and education to set futures right.
At meetings, we dined on St. George’s best,
Thanks to volunteers who gave their best.
With meals so hearty, cooked with care,
We found fellowship and kindness there.
We now feast on the pig of joy and kindness,
A banquet of hope that warms and reminds us.
The president’s gavel, oft misplaced,
Brings laughter to meetings (and a frantic chase).
We were proud to host students this year,
Paz from Argentina, who skied with good cheer.
And Fede from Italy, full of delight,
Sharing their cultures enriched every night.
Our gratitude extends to those who’ve shared,
To Board Members, Chairs, and all who’ve cared.
To members, partners, and friends so true,
And local businesses—we thank you too!
Though Kindness at Play has yet to be done,
We’re inching closer, one step, one run.
Moreau Park's dream grows brighter each day,
Fueled by hard work, love, and play.
I’m grateful to be a Rotarian true,
Proud of the wonderful things that we do.
For our community and abroad, we strive,
Bringing kindness and hope to help others thrive.
So here’s to a year of kindness and cheer,
To all TC Rotary does far and near.
Guided by principles, we carry the flame,
Because service above self is more than a name!
